Shanidev Temple is situated at G.T.Road, N.H.58, Gurukul Narsan (Haridwar) Uttarakhand. It is a temple dedicated to Lord Shaneeshwara, Lord Ganesh, Lord Shankara and Goddess Durgamata. The temple has a magnificent religious and divine history of more than 40 years (established in 1974), which draws a large number of devotees from far and wide.
The Shanidev temple is considered one among the oldest temple in the city. The original temple was renovated and re-structured in the year 1997.
The annual festivals (Shani Jayanti) in which an idol of Shanidev is taken out on a processing on chariot, attracts a lot of devotees. People come to this temple to pray to lord Shaneeshwara and to offer “Til-Deepa” (black sesame seeds mixed up in a piece of black cloth and soaked in till oil. This offering is believed to please Lord Shaneeshwara. The Samuhik Shani Pooja is conducted during annual celebration day i.e in the month of February, every year.
